Greatness is built through pain. Unless you experience pain, you will never achieve greatness. When life throws rocks at you, use each rock as an opportunity to learn and grow, and master them into position. With the wisdom gained through these lessons, you can build your house on solid rock. Count it as joy when you go through trials of many kinds, for the testing of your faith produces endurance. Endurance builds character, and strong characters are preferred when selecting leaders.
Use physical exercise as a reminder that pain is a feeling that can't be ignored, and that strength is built through repetition. When life hits hard the first time, remember that a few knocks will condition you to the pain. If you are still breathing, keep pushing forward. Embrace hard work, but also know when to rest. Don't create unnecessary struggles for yourself. Rest is important because without it, we struggle to produce effectively. Listen to your body. A little sleep, a little slumber, and poverty (laziness, procrastination, and doubt) will overtake you. Don't get too comfortable being comfortable, because nothing great grows from staying in your comfort zone. In all things, be content with having enough, and use wisdom to guide you in understanding what "enough" means.
How you enter life does not determine how you should exit life. Embrace your struggles, and remember that those who are struggling with you are also struggling to identify their own purpose. To understand your purpose, you need to understand the three core elements: work, eat, and drink. When we work, we can clothe ourselves in sheep's clothing, but don't be fooled by the gifts of this world. Sometimes these earthly gifts can bring us back to struggle.
